Portable sawmills

Track-mounted band sawmills to mill your own logs on site.

Frequently asked questions

  • What log diameter for which portable sawmill?

The RS170 takes up to 660 mm, the RS250 up to 790 mm and the RS360G up to 910 mm. Size on your largest logs, not your average: a mill that is tight on diameter forces you to turn wood away or split it with a chainsaw first.

  • Portable or stationary sawmill: how to choose?

A portable mill is set up at the foot of the tree and removes log haulage, which often costs more than the milling itself. A stationary mill only makes sense if timber comes to you year-round and you are after maximum throughput.

  • How thin can the boards be?

All our band sawmills go down to 3 mm with a sharp blade and a steady feed. In practice, count on 18 to 27 mm for flooring and sheathing, and up to 300 mm for structural beams.
