How deep does a stump grinder go below ground?
235 mm on the RD9, 245 mm on the RDC20 Pro. That is enough to replant or run a mower over it. For a foundation or a terrace the stump has to be dug out: a grinder reduces it, it does not pull it.
Tracks or wheels?
Tracks spread the weight and travel over soft ground, slopes and lawns without marking. A wheeled machine, narrower and lighter, goes through a garden gate. The choice is about access, not power.
Do the grinding teeth wear out quickly?
On a clean stump they last dozens of jobs. On a sandy stump or one holding stones, wear is immediate. The carbide tips on our machines re-sharpen several times before they need replacing.
