The WoodMax 20T chains cutting and splitting with no manual handling in between: the log enters on the hydraulic infeed, the 50 cm bar cross-cuts it, the 20-tonne splitter splits it and the 3.2 m conveyor stacks it. A 15 hp Kohler engine drives the lot.

For farmers and heavy domestic users who produce their own firewood and sell part of it, without depending on a tractor.

In practice

On rounds up to 48 cm cut at 55 cm, expect four cubic metres an hour with two people. The knife swaps between 4 and 6 way depending on whether you deliver open-fire logs or stove-sized splits.

Six splits per stroke, for smaller stove wood. The gain in rate is clear on regular rounds; on knotty timber, 20 tonnes starts to show.
